Extracting another 43K school fees from already overstretched parents won't stop depressed kids from burning down their schlols. We should rethink the school model that has sleep-deprived, half-starved kids that sleep 16 in a cubicle meant for 6.
The economy would immensely benefit if families retained the money they invest in the boarding system to invest in better housing, agricultural systems, family health insurance etc. And the day-schooling kids would have better exposure to cultural education in their communities if they were day-schooled.
