THOT OF THE DAY
The Ann Waiguru Senate & Kirinyaga Assembly impeachment saga may not have ended the way most people may have wanted but it is a big win for Kenya in so many ways.
1. It was an eye opener to many in that it exposed the dirty tricks employed by those in authority to swindle from the exchequer. Now we can see the light.
2. It is a lesson to MCAs to in future prepare well and seal gaps that such leaders exploit to escape justice. Remember, the burden of proof always remains with the accuser.
3. This is not the end of the matter as anyone can seal the loopholes identified in Senate to prepare grounds for prosecution either through the EACC or DPP and ensure any form or corruption or abuse of office is punished.
4. Life will never be the same for her (and all the others) as she has to "mend" the mess if she has to survive for the next 2 years. There are no two ways about it. She has to involve all stakeholders in every decision she makes henceforth.
As for Kenyans.... there is some light at the end of the tunnel... We are heading somewhere and gradually, these freedoms we are now enjoying will soon bear fruits... Leaders will soon be forced to stop dipping their filthy fingers into our hard earned taxpayers' money.
