There is no young person who is poor, none. It only requires guidance and sacrifices, understanding who one is and working his way up. The problem is social pressure to do the norm, you want to build a house because others are building, by a car because so and so bought, marry because your age mates have married. If you do your thing though painful especially if you come from a humble family you can break the poverty cycle. But it requires focus and taking no bullshit from anyone, more so from family members.

What of those that used to drop out at class 8? (That's before free secondary education). A person with no skills whatever, no way of raising capital. Literally living hand to mouth.

Having a career is not the only way out of poverty. Imagine a guy who got into mechanic or carpentry internship straight after std 8, by the time others graduate for their kcse he is already a full mechanic or carpenter. Suppose he saves his cash for another 8 yrs and rents a place to start his own business. By this time his age mates are still tarmacking looking for a job or in internship. A young person has all the time he only requires to have a vision, focus and patiently execute his plan

That's nowhere near being rich. Such a person is just eking a living. If he doesn't work for a week, his business dies.

I was talking about breaking the family poverty cycle, not being rich. Being rich is another thing all together where many factor are in play.

Young people have youth to their advantage. If only they can get the required vision, focus and displine they can achieve a lot.

Unfortunately in kenya we lack good role models. The Betty Kyalos are the role models to our girls. Whenever I encounter a group of boys they're listening to the latest gengetone mix.

Hopefully if they are well read they can start admiring the Marie Curies, the Isaac Newtons, the feynmans, the grace hoppers..

Juzi there was another one who was in a similar situation but his brother accommodated him. After some time, he became rowdy and threatened to molest both the bro and his wife in one sitting.
 
There's a story of a guy from the same area Rukenya,he is the only child and his mom ni Mzee,the guy received five million,alikuwa anapiga vibarua huko mwea.
After he got the money,first thing he did alinunua probox second hand,then he booked a flight to France akakule pesa...

Ulikuwa ukipatana naye ukimsalimia anakupea 1k ama zaidi...hehe,now the guy is back kupiga vibarua,gari ata hajui ulienda wapi
