It's an opportunity for them to put Kenya on leash for the forseeable future, they won't back down. Despite the loans being illegal according to the constitution. They are supporting illegalities.

If Kula Kabisa had campaigned on a manifesto of allowing IMF to take control of economic policy how many votes would they have got? Yet they showed how much they really despise even their voter base by blatantly lying to them in the campaign trail and booting them at the first opportunity.

A fisherman doesn't provide food to the fish, due to his love for the fish, it's just a bait to hook the fish. The same applies to the politicians and their campaign pledges.
 
A smart way of dealing with the odious debt is petitioning the American/European public since their governments are the owners of IMF/ Financial lenders.

They pretend to have a high standards of morality against corruption, but, how can a $2 billion euro bond? Have a
half of the undersigned amount retained in the US without the knowledge of the department of justice, as indicated in the audited accounts?

The west are enablers/colluders of corrupt regimes in Africa, whilst pontificating at the international podiums.

The courts could also just declare the debts unconstitutional and therefore illegal. The IMF would have to acknowledge that and act accordingly.
