Idiots wa meno 32 waliona avenue ya kula

no, during colonial times hundreds of Kalenjins were hired into the KAR, naturally their accent ruled the day and all other cops ape them.
its like pastor Muiru of Kuna Ndulu Gizani, one of the original televangelists, all pastors preach like him

I’d have thought it’s a legacy of the M.O-1 era.

Arbitrary arrest is illegal, unauthorized body searches too, what those officers are doing is no different from what happens in the US where the police harass young black men simply because they are black or loud or are looking flashy.

So-called offense of ‘Driving While Black’. Sad.

Reminds me of this sad story I came across recently:

Everyone someone says "We only have a few rotten apples" I can't help but I wonder what privileged neighbourhoods they live in, conduct a rudimentary survey amongst the accounts of police abuse and brutality you are going to hear will shock you much like this one, our police force isn't rotten, it is built to mete out oppression against ordinary Kenyans especially the young, defenceless and defiant, the sooner we dismantle it and build it afresh the better.

Precisely.
In that story, those cops seated comfortably at the front, what exactly did they think was happening at the rear?
Secondly, when they talk of a few rotten apples and yet they know them, why are they quiet as their image is besmirched by the rotten apples?

😄😄😄.

Human rights should be held sacred and guide relations between police and members of the public.

As a consequence of police brutality being highlighted, the police are now refusing to do their job when called upon by members of the public. On at least two incidences this week they have refused calls to respond to deaths claiming that they do not want to be accused of killing the said persons.

In one case of a young man who died in his house, the body was taken away from the scene by the area chief. In the other case of a body found in River Rúpingazí, volunteers took it out and delivered it to the area chief. In both cases, polisi walikataa kuja.

That's neglect of duty, a letter addressed to the SubCounty security team through the chief/DO from the community will suffice. Alternatively your MP should raise it as an issue in parliament uone vile nugu zitakunja mkia. I have always held that until the day when bribery shall cease being the sole qualifications in recruitment of police, we shall suffer from these entitled twats.

that is unfortunate, if they are doing a good job, none of them should fear victimisation
