Controversial blogger Edgar Obare was in a Kiambu court granted Sh100,000 bail with an option of an Sh300,000 bond. He was charged with unlawfully publishing personal and private details of fellow YouTuber Natalie Githinji.

Edgar released passport details of Natalie Githinji who is popularly known as Natalie Tewa without her consent. He was picked by a contingent of policemen on Thursday and spent the Weekend in the coolers.

The blogger was presented to the court on Monday and pleaded not guilty.

The blogger, who was arraigned at the Kiambu law courts on Monday, pleaded not guilty to the charges. Advocates Titus Munene Kinyua and Ojijo Kepher represented him before the Kiambu magistrate. After a short hearing, Edgar Obare was granted bail.

The charge sheet read, "On diverse dates between July 9 and July 13, 2020, at an unknown place, within the Republic of Kenya, using your social media accounts, domain name www.bnn.ke and verified Instagram account @edgarobare, unlawfully disclosed to your online follower's personal data to wit visa belonging to one Natalie Wanjiru Githinji without her consent."



Obare alleged that Natalie Tewa accompanied Junet Mohammed and Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho to Dubai recently to visit former Prime Minister Raila Odinga. Raila flew to the Middle East for treatment recently and is recovering in Kilifi.

He published passport details of Tewa indicating that she had flown to Dubai during the period international flights had been banned.

DCI sleuths ambushed him in Kisumu and took him to Nairobi for questioning. The case is set for mentioning on on August 21 and will be heard on November 2.

Edgar thanked his fans for the moral support and donations during his trying time. Fellow tubers organized hashtags on Twitter to demand that he be released.

Last year, he released a video clip of Jalang'o and his, friends partying with ladies. Edgar insinuated they were misusing the girls and cheating on their wives and significant others.
