How much does it cost to put up a petrol station?

And are the returns good ?
The people who can give you that info are those running the stations. But that would be like asking someone in the matatu business for info. The usual advice would be that you should never ever think of getting into the business.

Best option is to ask someone who has absolutely no idea how a Petrol station operates.

People say it's a good biz of you have the correct location.
Setting it up depends, based on interaction I've had.
If you have your land already, you could get into a contract with one of the oil companies, who will do the setup and you agree on the terms of repayment. This is where location is key.
Not sure of the other options so I won't comment on them.
The tricky bit with all the false glamor is, the obvious Kenyan disease of copying a biz just because you see someone else has succeeded, before you know it, it's a trend and everyone is jumping in head first.
If you hear stories from people who are in or have been in this biz, you get shocked. Some people have lost it all and some have made it.
Anyways hope I didn't go off topic sana.

@It's Me Scumbag the scumbag known as @Meria has deleted our informative authoritative comments

I said as much as this verbose comment but mine was deemed not helpful... I guess the trick is to become loquacious and wordy. With a TLDR warning. And then tell them to go to hell...

To be honest, such comments don't add value, it would be better to not comment than comment in such a way that discourages the person seeking for an answer

hapa naunga @admin mkono, everyone knows Somalis are big in that business but asking here is to appreciate the knowledge diverse listers have either through acquired experience or through books.
And meeting the real owner of a large business is not a walk in the park.

We had evaluated this idea four years ago. Jamaa wa construction alikua anasema minimum 15m, ukiwa na plot. The best business on that road does about 7K lts per day. Unaweza kuongea na @shocks. He may have more ideas.

Also search kwa ile kijiji ya vijana as well as Wazua. I must have seen some threads there.
