We fail to understand people lose money across the globe , in so many different ways. Pale states walikuwa na Bernie Madoff , for ran a ponzi scheme for the longest time.
I thing i never heard or read from Kenyans, is them calling jungu's wanjinga for losing their money.

The difference between us and them is that when authorities there uncover such scams, the perpetrators go in jail for a long long time and try to recover and refund the victims as much as possible.
Hapa once imejulikana, DCI wanaita the masterminds kando and try to extort as much as possible. Victims waende wakikaukanga.
That is the difference between an advanced/ civilised society and a bonobo society.
