Interior PS Dr. Karanja Kibicho has led a top government delegation on a inspection tour of the 10,000-acre Galana-Kulalu farm; says project 85% complete and incorporates drip irrigation system for production of maize and other high-value crops like bananas and mangoes.

Whether it's legumes or maize or whatever,why not empower farmers to do the production instead of wasting all these billions?

Valid point, but my main concern is 'forcing' maize to grow in a region that doesn't favour the ultimate maize hybrid, irrigation not withstanding. Some legumes do very well in that part of the country

If you do the maths,the cost of producing that one bag of maize farmed by the Kenyan government is not sustainable.

Pale misri someone claimed maize from Galana would have cost only 800bob per 90kg bag to produce given the massive economies of scale, that made sense but as usual with Jameson none of his projects get to be completed.
