He has learned early in his career that big money brings big expectations
 
Abramovich is extremely results-oriented at the expense of building an identity at the club.

Signing a former legend would indicate that he wanted to build an identity but doesn't seem to be the case now. The transfer ban probably pushed them to take a chance on Lampard to keep the fans happy
