As you continue to marvel at the ease with which one Polycarp Igathe changes executive roles, more awaits you on the kind a successful family man that his life has curved into.
Since 2017, Igathe has switched from serving as Deputy Governor of Nairobi to recently resigning as the executive vice-president for sales and marketing at Vivo Energy rejoining Equity Holdings as chief commercial officer.
He is a typical case of having a woman behind every man that is deemed successful but with a little more to add to the stalwart lady together with whom they have two daughters and a son.
The 47-year-old married Catherine Igathe, a powerful career woman who was in February this year appointed as the Chief Executive Officer at Jubilee General Insurance.
Catherine has 20 years’ experience in the insurance industry, most of which she has served in Senior Management roles.
Last month, perhaps at a time her husband was contemplating going back to Equity Bank, she left her Managing Director role at AIG Kenya Insurance, joining rival firm Jubilee Insurance Holdings as the General wing CEO.
The highly resourceful general insurance manager studied at the United States International University – Africa where she pursued International Business Administration.
She is also a graduate of the Advanced Management Programme from Strathmore Business School where her husband once studied.
Catherine's carreer profile reflects a complete opposite of Igathe whose longest stay in a senior role was when he worked as Managing Director at HACO Industries for 10.
According to her LinkedIn profile, if accurate enough, she may have been at AIG for at least 17 years serving as Managing Director.
She has a keen interest in people development, and exposure working in a multinational environment, that Jubilee Holdings would seek to benefit from after restructuring recently.
Earlier this year, Jubilee Insurance Kenya completed a legal separation of its Medical and General insurance business into two new companies.
This process created Jubilee Health Insurance Limited and Jubilee General Insurance Limited and therefore creating Mrs Igathe's current role.
The existing company was converted into the third wing of the cooperate running individual and group life insurance, pension and annuity businesses. This was renamed Jubilee Life Insurance Limited.

As a result of the changes effected late January, 52 roles, representing 8.2 per cent of the 628 full time positions, rendered redundant.
The Group Chairman Nizar Juma told staff and other stakeholders that the split of the business would provide more focused service delivery to customers.
“We are committed to providing the best to our customers and the split will provide opportunities to simplify and strengthen our operational model and further enhance both service delivery and efficiency’, stated Juma.
