Law enforcement officers from Lumakanda Police Station have intercepted a public service vehicle (PSV) along Webuye-Eldoret Highway, nabbing a passenger with a stash of cannabis sativa valued at approximately Sh3 million in the streets.
Acting on a tip-off, the officers set up a strategic roadblock at Lumakanda Junction, ready to catch the would-be traffickers red-handed.
Just moments later, their efforts paid off when they intercepted the PSV suspected of ferrying the prohibited herb.
A quick search revealed one passenger, identified as Kelvin Onyango, with bales of bhang stuffed in two green sacks, tipping the scales at 100 kilograms.
Onyango was swiftly escorted to Lumakanda Police Station, undergoing processing pending arraignment. Meanwhile, the recovered narcotics are being detained as exhibits.
