The mighty diamonds wrote a song called pass the kouchie a year before this song. Kouchie being a pipe for smoking weed. The song was reworked a year later by this kids group using the word Dutchie, meaning dutch oven pot. It talks about poverty in England. Of course as time went on, people thought this was a bunch of stoner kids, and adopted the name Dutchie to describe a particular rolled joint.
