Below image show the fenced road with no provision for pedestrians .

Hii barabara ilipangwa kitambo sana ili watu washibe, which explains the reluctance to redo Mombasa road over the years despite the existence of ample expansion space. Out of the 27 km length, 16 km (or 60% of the road) is normal road bed, which occupies space that could have been used for normal road expansion. The capacity of Mombasa road could have been doubled up to Nyayo stadium through normal expansion for a tiny fraction of the cost of this road. Mombasa road might become more chaotic despite this new road.

When I visited the place last week, my first thing in mind was why not strawberries !
