Ephraim Njenga is definitely a 'whinner'

Njenga's tweets of late are reading like that of an egomaniac. Maybe his fame has got into his head or maybe it is just me.

His recent tweet on the fertilizer subsidy is rubbing me the wrong way. While there is truth to what he is saying, you would imagine our agricultural sector is thriving so that we move to implementing his suggestions.

The way I see it, we must start with the low hanging fruit. I have not heard one single farmer crying about the cost of pesticide. However, all are demanding cheaper fertilizer and feeds.

The issue or rains is a non starter. Are we meant not to plant just because it is not raining adequately?

It is going to be a slow reconstruction of our economy before we can get into the nitty gritty of maximizing productivity beyond fertilizer.

it's just you, the " whiner" has been consistent in his criticism from ages ago, I remember getting into arguments with him in 2015 when he went full blast against the dynamic duo but unfortunately his analysis were proved correct later.

I agree with him. First, giving subsidy to fertilizers right now means the effect can only be felt next year Nov. What will bring the cost of unga down from 200 to 70 bob as he promised?
Also, the main reason this year's yields will be low is mainly because of insufficient rain and not because of fertilizers. Mimi nmeambia mathey it's time to look for something else to grow coz clearly, climate change is crewing us big time.

Have you asked her whether she has been applying fertilizer at the same ratios as before when it was 3k?

Also, has she mentioned the quality of the fertilizer by any chance?

I want to see something.

Someone giving a dose of reality between now and 2027 will be told h/she is whining

Seems the Aziminions have evolved. The "I told you so's" are now out on day 2. Echoes of the early years of the Kibaki government.

When I said Uhuru was subsidizing everything under the sun with borrowed money, mlituambia hatujui. Fuel, Unga, Stima all subsidized for momentary relief, forestalling future pain.

Tighten the belt.

Hehe...wewe hujai experience life outside karatina and Nairobi, and it shows. I can tell you confidently climate change is the biggest elephant in the room. You can plant without fertilizer but maize will be taller than you if there's sufficient rainfall. But you can use izo fertilizers na mahindi zkufike kwa magoti...ama kiuno. Huko areas za home, almost everyone didn't bother to use certified seeds, till 2009. The yields were much higher than they are nowadays where they buy certified seeds

I will never cease to be amazed how we shift goal posts depending with the political climate. Before Ruto won, Azimio supporters were furious with Njenga and now he is a darling.
Tells you all you need to know about the man - he is consistent despite being a glass half empty believer.

Hehe...fake news. Njega has been a thorn to both groups. And in most cases, he's usually right. He said azimio manifesto was useless which has echoes my sentiments in this village all along.

Farmer 001 on twitter is here. Before Ruto promised cheap fertilizer. You can read comments as well. Hao ni watu wanacomplain about climate change not fetilizers

Those who cant read comments, they are here

he's been very consistent in his analysis , totally unbiased. I think he was among the first analysts who called it for ruto,
He takes no prisoner. So objective. He hinted that Kenya Kwanza had offered him blogging job but declined due to his unbiased consciousness. Very sharp guy. Most of his tweets usually have the solutions.
He has also bashed the taking back of port to Mombasa
