Double taxation

Paying land rates and other rates is fine. The problem is that the money will not be used for the purposes rates are intended for. You will still have to dig into your pocket as nyumba kumi and repair local roads, cut bushes, hire private companies to carry your garbage and take your kids to private/church schools because the local council school is shit.

That's double taxation.

But Kenyans are quite resilient.

@mzeiya si bora tume-punich Uhuru and his stooges? Huyu dimpled guy will fork Nairobians 7 ways until 2027.

Check the date, it was Uhuru' stooge who brought this matter to the fore. All Sakaja can do is try and reverse it.
Also, if you've watched the Wire, you know how politics is played better than the ordinary folks. Right, sire?

Laws are made for Man, not Man for law, we can't keep blaming former office holders when it's within our powers to amend or repel repressive laws.

true, the goverment rode on pro hustler narrative, at least they could be showing steps towards amending laws to reduce tax burden. Kama hii ya juzi , I was really hoping they could stop the inflation tax but all was silent, all we hear is kra targets are being raised higher yet no solid plans to first expand the tax base.

The uda govt both at the national and county level is yet to accept that it's in power, giving promises here and there as if they're campaigning.
