Whereas I have a lot of respect and concern for PWDs, I think Reuben Kigane is misusing his disability for personal gains.
-Should IEBC put braille as a means of voting?
-Should PWDs get preferential treatment when it comes to requirements for qualification as presidential candidates?
-Does our country have the capacity to accommodate PWDs or should we just accept that the system doesn't have the means to accommodate PWDS at the moment?
Or do we just say Kigame is a brarefakkin opportunist?

"IEBC has not, in any way, extended means to integrate the Petitioner as a presidential aspirant, and the Petitioner has been subjected to a vigorous process without due regard to his inability to see and read. The 1st Respondent has not developed any regulations to accommodate the persons living with a disability such as Braille or any other form of communication,” Kigame’s petition read in part."

One of my close friends is visually impaired. They lost their sight just after they completed their High School Papers.

Just when life was starting.

The reality for PWD in Kenya is horrifying.

My friend had to move to the USA where Accommodation for the disabled is treated seriously.

I salute Rueben Kigame for bringing attention to our fellow citizens who are living with disabilities.

Inasmuch it is a petition against the IEBC,the bigger picture painted by Kigame is what Kenyans need to see.

Should IEBC put braille as a means of voting? Yes. A blind voter is still a voter

-Should PWDs get preferential treatment when it comes to requirements for qualification as presidential candidates? Yes. Because We have Women Rep positions

-Does our country have the capacity to accommodate PWDs or should we just accept that the system doesn't have the means to accommodate PWDS at the moment? Yes. If women reps are accepted why not

Or do we just say Kigame is a brarefakkin opportunist? The word ''we" Kwa hii sentence ni "I" na opinions zako Meffi.

Equality means each individual or group of people is given the same resources or opportunities. Equity recognizes that each person has different circumstances and allocates the exact resources and opportunities needed to reach an equal outcome.

We have a state corporation called NCPWD.
What does it do?

It does its best. Shida ni the same errwhere. Pesa hazifikii watu, and enforcement of the relevant laws eg building code, public transport, school and learning opportunities and the open discrimination against them, as Candidate Kigame has pointed out.

Does our country have the capacity?

Good question.

Its all about education and we definitely have the capacity.

I personally think the IEBC should have bent over backwards to accomodate Kigame. This would have killed 7 birds with one stone, including raising the democratic profile of the country globally.
Parliament should have made the necessary adjustment to the law to ensure equity. What do those nominated MPigs like Mwaura do?
We actually have a Kenya Disability Parliamentary Association (KEDIPA). Once in a while you'll see them in Mombasa for a retreat. I wonder why they don't spearhead amendment of laws to ensure inclusivity.
