Also, wouldn't utilising the land for agricultural production be more worthwhile considering Thika is close to Kanairo and existing infrastructure such as irrigation techniques is already in place? Or... or at the very least make the land into mix-usage?

Really wary of turning each available piece of arable land into concrete jungles, IMHO.

And it needs no guessing nor speculation as to who will get first dibs at the huge tracts of land allocation.

As you stated this should have been kept as farming land.

Kiambu is becoming a stone jungle, nowadays, dust allover. But kama all the cs said their main source of income is rentals, we already know how it will end

All what is now Tatu City used to be Tatu Coffee Estate . There were others like Ruera ,Mchana , Oakland etc .All these coffee farms had huge dams and related water infrastructure to help in irrigation. But saa watu wanajenga and I am sure when someone drown ama avamiwe na hippo they will start demonstrating dam ikuwe drained .
Having been born and raised in Gatundu South the farms employed so many people .Unless something radical is done we are in deep murky s***

Njuguna wa Ruth, the late , foght for this land
Some land here is for Muranga county government !

600 acres is plenty. As the governor has indicated, the pieces are not in the same area. Surely there is enough land for both projects. Set up affordable housing, schools and a hospital and possibly give workers who will work in the farm first priority to own the homes. Win-Win?

Affordable Housing will be milked properly if we don't get it right . Premium tears loading very soon .
Food security should be number one on the list of things to fix ASAP .

True. That has always been the case with government projects regardless of who is president. I would go as far as to say it is a Kenyan culture. I know some individuals who actually supply products to projects they launched themselves.
