He identified the owner as the manager of his hotel and told him to take him round the hotel to show his "guests". The manager knowing he is getting clients obliged and acted as his manager not knowing that the investors wanted to buy the hotel. He was paid 800 thousand as down payment. When the investors returned they were told that they have never even seen the fellow.
