You are reading this from the wrong perspective. It is important for civil servants to do their work without involving themselves in politics. That way they become a valuable asset to any administration. You cannot engage in politics even in your own place of work and expect to be retained when a new CEO takes over.

Matiang'i was a gem until politics entered. I rate him on the same level as Dr. Monica Juma and Joseph Kinyua.
They should also look at giving Esther Koimet a bigger role, she's been in all the government's just doing her work with zero scandals despite being deip state.

you can't escape politics even in the office,once you reach director or chief manager levels, politics is more important than qualifications, you must align with the ceo no matter how he behaves.
