Am thinking of installing Ubuntu in order to recover data from windows. Ii idea itawesa kweli? The pre installed windows is corrupt and I can't install another windows on either of the drives without formatting

Just use a live disk, no need to install, not sure if Linux helps in any way in recovery, the underlying state of the FS doesn’t change

Hiyo ni issue ya format ya disk GPT or MBR. Just read exactly what it tells you, by clicking details of that reasons, then someone can come up with a process on what you can do
