Ira, Thegeme, Ngoikoni and Mūūnyū
Ira is pure white clay sourced Mount Kenya also know from Kìrìma kìa Ira. Initiates had to apply Ira during circumcision .
Ngoikoni is soft yellow stone. It was used to 'paint' those going to war. It was also used to paint those participating in Kìbaata dance. It was sourced from Gaki(Nyeri).
Mūūnyū is saline earth. Mainly used to mark cattle to help identify them. Mūūnyū was sometimes
used to whiten the body for certain dances
Thegeme was a stone powder used in decorating shields and dance ornaments. It was not applied on the body.
Mbũrũ is yellow ochre.
Thĩrĩga is red ochre
