On a serious note, the only reason I hold back from upgrading my car's sound is the notion that if not done well, it can lead to an unwanted fire.

I will skip the risk part and ask, have you tried replacing the OEM speakers with a decent set like Sony XS1621C or any other component speaker set ? Perhaps the thing is that at 35 years old, I'm not really drawn to the loud 'bum bum twaf' I grew up idolozing.
Also, nowadays proper jalopies come with such great in-built sound that kelele mingi ni ya attention seeking which at times a man desires. And for that I'm guilty.
At the end of the day, kuna ngoma I really love to really acquaint myself with the bassline but usually wait till I do so with my home theatre or headphones. Still, none beats the sound at the club and mathrees. Strange World.
