COA nullifies Finance Bill 23/24

They need to be creative and stop being lazy in how they source for funds
You sound like the Gen Z's. You can critisize but when it comes to providing solutions hamna.

Where else do you source funds other than from taxes and debt? If they are not going to borrow, what do they tax more to service interest?

The government has money, if well planned and reduction of unnecessary expenditure done, i doubt the country should struggle as much as they are making it sound. If tax has to be increased let them target facilities that can net in the largest population so that the increases can be minimal

While at it , there is a very large population that don't pay taxes or pay very little a very good example is landlords .Those need to be onboard .
Mtaani pia make shops ,hardware and supermarkets don't give a fiscal receipt so most probably they remit little or no taxes .

If the government had money we would not be running a near 1 Trillion budget deficit. We have now hit our borrowing ceiling, so the only option is to increase revenues.

How then do you raise revenues in a country where the economy is largely informal? How do you net the person deep in the village running a successful milk farm and submits nil returns?
