For 21yrs I stayed in South Africa, 2 years in Kwa Zulu Natal in Port Shepstone and 19yrs in Eastern Cape province Mount Frere to be exact. South Africa is my second home, many will call South Africans xenophobic but to me there are not. South Africans are the most friendly nationals that I've met, most accomodating and friendliest, the only problem with them; they have been pushed to a corner, imagine a situation where here at Wanyororo homekwetu every shop, every butchery, every liquor outlet, every pharmacy, mama mboga, kinyozi, salonist, every wholesaler, furniture shop, electronic vendors, drug barons ... absolutely ALMOST EVERYTHING is foreign owned? Yani your country is sold out to wangeni as you watch!!?? Some lessons in life are painfully expensive.
For many Kenyans in South Africa, the past few days have been filled with fear, uncertainty, and difficult decisions. No one leaves home expecting that one day they might have to run for safety.
To every Kenyan boarding a flight home, packing in haste, or wondering what tomorrow holds, this country still has a place for you.

There is something special about home. It may not always be perfect, but it is the one place where your roots run deep, where your story began, and where hope can always be rebuilt.
As we pray for peace and stand with those affected, may this also remind all of us that wherever life takes us, never lose your connection to Kenya. Build something here. Plant your roots here. Own something here.
Because there is a different kind of peace that comes with knowing that no matter what happens anywhere in the world, there is a place in Kenya that is truly yours.
That is why I believe owning land is not just about investment. It is about identity. It is about security. It is about ensuring that whenever life calls you back home, you are coming back to what belongs to you.
To every Kenyan returning home, we welcome you with open arms. Karibuni nyumbani
