Submission to Governing Authorities
Verse 1:Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.
Verse 2:Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves.
Verse 3: For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and you will be commended.
Verse 4:For the one in authority is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for no reason. They are God’s servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer.
Verse 5: Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also as a matter of conscience.
Verse 6: This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God’s servants, who give their full time to governing.
Verse 7:Give to everyone what you owe them: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.

SMS ziko. I've been receiving daily readings for the last 5 years or so kwa WhatsApp. Infact we have radio waumini dedicated for catholic masses. Jana the Pope was alone holding a mass in Vatican city. Hawa wa bungoma ni umangaa tu

Theae verses can be damning. Any christian who protests against their government or leader is going against god's wishes.
@Liberty and @Anglututu im sure you can quote something to counter this. But then the question becomes, what do you follow when the good book tells you two things that are in conflict with one another?

Conflicting statements are all over the Bible. Argument for another day, the book has been corrupted by people.
Regarding following the law of the land, from an Islamic point of view, your statement is correct. We should abide. When there's oppression, I'm not qualified to speak in that regard.

The Cathedral of Nyeri is locked. The chappel is also closed. Holy Family Basilica the door is also locked. The KCCB also issued a statement in regards to this. This is the case to all thr Catholic churches all over the country.
About Bungoma I cant comment coz I dontk no its authenticity and the full story about it. if true then they are contravening the orders
