The gen z protests were an existential threat to the political establishment. As much as they have different parties and coalitions competing against each other, creating an illusion of democracy, they are all cut from the same cloth. They are more similar to each other than to the rest of kenyans.
It was predictable that the political class will regroup and focus on eliminating the new awakening. In doing so, they will expose all their tricks. I'm reminded of how the US political establishment and the main stream media exposed all their tricks fighting Trump, and Trump still had a massive victory.
