I meant in terms of catching the virus when pregnant. The child basically drains the mother of nutrients. So, for a disease that generally takes advantage of a compromised immune system and a body that cannot mount a defense, don't you think the pregnancy contributed majorly to her inability to survive covid?

Actually, some mother's suffer from above-normal blood sugar and hypertension levels when pregnant which could indeed predispose them to more severe covid19 symptoms, that is why pregnant women are being advised to get vaccinated, the vaccine is safe for both mother and child.

The thread title is ‘brave squad’ and it addressed to those in ‘doubt of the lethality of the Delta variant’. It gets me wondering why the need to keep threatening people about the lethality of Covid. Most people read the news, and know what’s going on locally and across the world, most people have Neighbours, colleagues and friends, and each one of us understands their personal circumstances. I don’t understand the need to keep threatening people with death.
I think we should just mourn the departed rather than using them as examples. Everyone has a destination, you can arrive even in your sleep.

I would not have a problem with doubters if they kept it to themselves. The issue is that they want to be loud and heard even when 99% of experts have provided enough proof to trash their falsehoods. This might mislead other borderline cretins into thinking the same way. I will not tire to advice anyone with such warped views to take time off the internet and visit a Covid facility. Here they can talk with the health workers and mortuary attendants as they witness what goes on in such places.

They can say all they want now but once it hits closer home they will be left dumbfounded. Personally it has hit closer home twice. One was during the 3rd wave and the second during this 4th wave. The 4th wave one was taken critical to hospital for 2weeks and mind you both have no underlying conditions. Luckily they're all ok now.

And yet Fauci and co yell to us everyday with no notable stand on it.... Get vaccinated don't wear a mask..... Get vaccinated, continue social distancing, you will still get it... Dilly dally every other time.... We've never dilly dallied even once in our message from day 1

People need to come to peace with the inevitable. I’m relatively young but I’ve grown old enough to see former school mates die while giving birth, some have lost kids to unexpected accidents like drowning in a bucket, I’ve seen people I know being killed coz they chose thuggery, others have died coz of underlying conditions they had, my own mother died while I looked after her deteriorating health over months, a close relative died in my arms due to pulmonary embolism. She died in my arms at the back of a cab while I rushed her to a hospital - mind you we had just finished dinner and she was cleaning utensils when she got an attack.
The point is, these things will hit home either way. And you’ll have nothing to do to rescue the person or yourself.
So instead of calling others cretins, embrace your choices, embrace your health, take care of yourself and live a Life you’re happy with.
