A sombre mood has engulfed Kinyach village at the border of Baringo and Elgeyo Marakwet counties after armed bandits shot dead a teacher while making away with over 200 heads of livestock.
Wycliffe Kemboi was shot dead by the bandits, an incident that sent his father into a coma.
According to locals in the area, it appears that the bandits are now targeting teachers, something that has led to the closure six schools in Baringo North and parts of Baringo South.
Following the attack, four more schools have been closed indefinitely. The schools include; Kinyach, Tilingwo, Ayatwa and Chemintany primary schools.
