I originally supported BBI because I support the Handshake and cohesion. Then I read it, and despite merited reservations with some sections, I still supported my president position.

But now, I am FULLY behind it due to personal interest i.e the 70 extra MP seats. To note, Nairobi will get 16... Meaning, tentatively, almost all constituencies (except one) will be split. I repeat, hapo patakuwa na 16 virgin Constituencies with no incumbents... Si God is good? All the time.

Eti wewe unapinga because of what? Wage bill... why, na huwa una-file nil returns.

If you read that crap you'd know that those extra seats would not be elective seats but nominated from "party lists".

What that means is that the winning party gets to pack parliament with party loyalist who owe loyalty to the party and not the constituents he represents and can be picked and dismissed at will!

In kenya's case we know that parties are treated as personal property so those extra seats are just a clever way to recreate an imperial presidency/dictatorship under the guise of strengthening parties...washindwe!!
 
After Cost benefit analysis ya BBI,it doesn't make sense to me. All i see ni more seats and offices at the expense of the tax payer. Expect heavier taxation and lower quality of life from whatever it is that you earn or make.
 
To me the biggest problem that has faced kenya since independence is tribalism i.e. mtu wetu politics, which has given birth to nepotism and corruption in govt.

If BBI is not the compromise needed to neutralize this, I think we have many smart kenyans who can propose a better solution and mobilize the masses behind it
