Classic 105 radio presenter Maina Kageni can spend Sh100k in a day. Speaking to Word Is, the veteran radio presenter was asked to speak about his budget on a daily basis. This is after he revealed on his famous breakfast show that he spends over Sh10k a day. “If you take a woman out, man up. There is a place I go and the price of three samosas is Sh2k. I budget for sh 10k a day.” According to Maina, there are two types of spending. “On my personal clients, which is a business expense or on parties which has no limit,” he said. “Sometimes when my friends are buying, I spend nothing. But when it’s my turn especially when my friends from America come, cause when I go to the states they take care of me.” Maina further explained that in the December holiday, it is easy for him to spend even Sh100k a day with his American friends. “It can get to that level. They are friends of mine who I wouldn’t give up for anything,” he said. “I go to America with money and I come back on my own. I never spent money in America. So when they come here for Christmas, I know I am in a problem. A good problem, though.”

Maina has been on radio for more than two decades, which he said is rewarding. “It doesn’t feel like it’s that long. Every day isn’t the same,” he said, adding that it is what he loves about radio. “I love being able to interact with my callers and see what they are doing. I love my co-host. I think that I am blessed with the best co-host anyone could ever want on radio.”

It's in bad taste to spend all that money you earn on yourself while others starve. Hata afadhali huyo mwisi anaibaga dam mbili mbili na kununua helicopters. I'm very angry 😡!

Maina hasn't and doesn't talk about his philanthropy activities. And I know he does such activities.
Two, wewe pia, you probably spend 1,2,3k or whatever daily. Be it on food, fuel, jalopy, entertainment, etc. Have you ever considered reducing this amount so that your hungry neighbor doesn't sleep hungry? You may not talk about how much you spend like Maina, but whenever you pass someone driving that jalopy, or order a nice dish in a hotel, you are equally shouting about how much you spend.
Verdict: Whatever you spend, as long as it is rightfully earned, do it without fear.
