A total of 1,083,456 candidates sat the 2019 KCPE examination, an increase from 1,052, 344 candidates in 2018.

So let's assume that a similar number of 'kids' exist between 0-22 years, the later being the average age when humans become economically-productive. Let's also assume that a further 220,000 kids per year are lost/leak out of the education system for one reason or another (early marriages, pastoralists, chokoraas, etc).

That would mean that we have a population of 22 X (1,080,000+220,000) = 28,600,000 kids below 23 years.

That's nearly 60 per cent of the population.

I will not comment further.

But anybody who blames corruption, Uhuru, Raila, Gavament, Moi, Jomo, etc etc for our poverty better get his head and genitals examined....
