A lot. Loads of benefits.
People who drink socially and moderately leads better physically and mentally (socially and psychologically) better lives than teetotallers.
They interact and integrate more. They carthasis easily and understand others and the world better.

Personally and on an individual level, I am always wary of abstainers from akoho Banae. I find them self righteous and very judgemental.
@Kasaman, just as we speak now, authorities and social groups are encouraging old folks to get to the pubs more.
They are also discouraging pub closures as folks are lacking forums to interact.

Mind you alcohol pays more taxes than many other commodities.

Personally I don't drink neither do I smoke
Almost all my friends drink alcohol and I do buy for them. Take it from me majority don't drink alcohol to socialise. Wakilewa they open up and I really pity them.Ever had a drunkard man or women openly talk to you about his/her Personal life ! Ako na kila kitu, anakuambia gari yake inajua home ! But you realise akidrive he is endangering his life ! Unachukua funguo ya gari, drive the nigga to a gated community residence, park right at his main gate , call an Uber and off you call it a night. Pombe is a plastic solution to crisis facing drunkards in Kenya today !
Two words here you have used
Socially and moderately ! Not in Kenya

The wheelbarrow was a synchronised and choreographed con, @Mwalimu-G.
Same hoax as the pebbles and millet-water mix of the infamous majimaji rebellion where Tanzanians were deluded that throwing pebbles at the German Army would turn the pebbles to lethal bullets and that the millet-water would turn German firepower into maji.

JSKS, just like Kinjikitile Ngwale the crazed Witchdoctor of the majimaji, puppeteered and hallucinated Tugeges with wheelbarrows, “tutatenga, tutapanga, tumetenga” and such other nonsense to unimaginable levels of indoctrination and brainwashing.

I remember witnessing a very respectable Guy I know being pushed crazily on a wheelbarrow by a mob and waxing lyrically how the wheelbarrow would revolutionalise Kenya into a first world.
Today this Guy is full of regrets and remorse about how things have turned out.
The euphoria that was witnessed in Mt Kenya region was akin to voodoo witchcraft.
Any wonder that many married women gawad to the wheelbarrow gang?
