Recently read the story of a Zimbabwean teacher who got an offer to teach in the UK. He was shocked and appalled at how kids belittled him often, and to make it worse, he was told he can't reprimand them or he'll get fired, and if he reacts, he can face being imprisoned. Some things, like respecting elders, make you glad to be African, though that is also eroding.
