Problem was with how delicate the ash-like wick was and the amount of pumping involved. Also, one had to use methylated spirit which had to be delicately inserted into the lamp Buana.

There was a mutura guy back in the hood, maybe he was @Mongrel in his early years who used to enjoy pumping that red thingy hadi iwake visuri.
