The effects of a distorted land market. Kenyans can afford to build fairly decent houses but cannot afford adequate land for the build. Result; the structure ends up covering all the available space leaving nothing for outdoor living. This could explain the high number of deranged kids and spouses in middle-class families.

I disagree. Some of us growing up even lived in single rooms partitioned by a curtain and saw a 'double' roomed house as a blessing and we turned OK.
Ama we're deranged na hatujui?

But you raise a valid point. I think the minimum land required to develop a home should be a quarter. We also need to do away with the obsession of building huuuge mansions that the kids leave as soon as they get into college leaving elderly parents with an unnecessarily large house and master bedrooms upstairs that arthritis hinders one from enjoying.
For example...

That as compared to this 3 bedroom that would leave adequate outdoorsy space...

Living in a single room with the freedom to circulate withing a radius of several kilometers feels very different compared to being restricted in a stone structure within a very limited compound. Remember, such homes usually appear in 'new' areas where the free circulation of kids may not be supported.

Valid point.

Italy starts maxi-trial of 350 members of the powerful Italian 'Ndrangheta' mafia.
Their alleged turnover is 53 billion euros. I am in the wrong business..

the money might be good, but depends on your personal view of life.
if you love adrenaline, not afraid to die, ready to be on the move at any point/time, not prepared to have a family or them being killed,.... then it will work for you.
but if you want to relax and enjoy life without looking over your shoulder, it wont be your thing.

but am sure they are always recruiting, so you have a chance. am sure they want a Lawyer

There is a reason why prisons have huge walls and small spaces, Kenyans seem unable to grasp the fact that man is a social being, man thrives in freedom and abundance of vitality, walls may be good for security but they are horrible on the psyche

When you build a home dont put up a wall, try a hedge, try to do so on atleast a 50*100, plant trees and a ka-lawn and if possible a ka-kitchen garden to expend your energies in

Also find something passionate to do, gardening, furniture making, music, painting, make your home a place you look forward to going to, a sanctuary of sorts
