One of the invaders, who spoke to Nation.Africa on the condition of anonymity for fear of reprisals, said they were merely responding to the election pledges of the former Mathira MP, who had promised to resettle them there once Dr Ruto became President.

I don't see this as a legitimate possibility. Raila has borrowed and misfired his last bullet. The Azimio mongrel is prime for carving. I remember something in their coalition agreement suggesting that constituent parties could leave 6 months after the election. At that point, the UDM's of the this world will break away and for pre-election coalitions with KK leaving ODM, Jubilee and maybe DAP-K.

Raila will have no power to bargain with except maandamano nonsense. Even his closest allies that prop him up will abandon him like ticks fleeing a dying cow.
