Ethiopia are in afcon yet the biggest economy in east and central Africa is nowhere, kenya is loosing it's soft power.

I like the backlash that European journalists got when they tried to belittle AFCON. Special mention to Patrick Vieira, the Arsenal and French great with roots in Africa as well as Ian Wright, another black English Arsenal great as well as Haller, the Ivorian who's currently the top scorer in the Champions League and Eto'o as well.

But AFCON is a small/ boring tournament brother. Start with poor video coverage. Then commentators.

It's been making a steady improvement in quality especially when hosted by the Arab North since they have robust domestic leagues. Let's see what Cameroon has to offer.

True it lacks the euphoria of euros or wc but if africans can't promote it by watching, who will? You can't compare it to Europe . But at least it's gaining mileage, sky sports will show all games live, with time it will get enough clout.
True. The more we watch, the more revenue especially via TV rights is collected. We must support our own in order for it to flourish

If they want more clout, they should reschedule the tournament to June/July after the end of European leagues. Having it in January/February is competing for viewers with the EPL which is a tough nut to crack. For now, AFCON is a small tournament.

Afcon this time round is a slap in the face for Kenyans.

Kenyans need to realize they can't have it both ways, tolerate corruption and mediocrity and it reflects in poor performance globally.

Origi snr did the right thing in establishing his son's career away from this mess. Let's change things so that it doesn't have to be like this in the future.
