Residents of Muthambi and Mitheru locations in Tharaka Nithi hunted down and killed a hyena that had been eating their goats, sheep and the occasional calf for the last two months. They then hanged its carcass on a tree for a photo session where they forgot about masks and social distancing.

They wouldn't need to hunt the hyena down if KWS did their job. Some family friends of ours used to be terrorised by theru on their farms, they would eat anything including napier grass, they got to a point where they stopped planting crops and left the land bare. Finally the little fuckers just moved after more than 5 years.

Now, imagine the terror walking around with a hyena lurking around for 2months, they should have hunted the beast down in the first week.

KWS are known to be lethargic which is unfortunate, those animals do not need to die, they too just want to live to see another day.

My point is in such cases citizens should take action themselves because KWS isnt reliable.
