I Was at Work- Ben Githae Distances Himself From Jubilee Failures

Gospel musician Ben Githae on Friday, February 12, challenged Kenyans to work hard and stop blaming him for the tough economic times linked to the Jubilee government.
Githae disputed a popular claim that he swayed Kenyans into voting for the Jubilee government through his campaign hit song Tano Tena.
He stated that he was merely working and only used his gift to communicate to Kenyans what he believed in at the time.
"If you do not work for yourself and you only blame Ben Githae, you will only die a poor person because I sang the song and was paid. I also urge you to do your job and be paid for it."
"Make a difference in your life. The only person who is able to sort out the issues they are going through is yourself," he continued.
Githae, who was speaking on an interview on NTV, stated that though he had sang the song, Kenyans had a choice of either voting in President Uhuru Kenyatta or not.
He faulted those who always blamed him when something went wrong in the country, adding that he wasn't bothered by any of the allegations.
"Today anything that happens in politics or even when people are suffering economically, they start pointing fingers at me saying that I lied to them. They insult me but I am very healthy. Do I look stressed?" he posed.
Further, the musician warned the youth of always pointing fingers at others when things are not working out for them.
The musician added that he had no regrets and is working on a piece to popularise the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).
"I recorded the song, that is my voice. I plan to release the full song soon. I will issue more details about the song in due time," he previously told Kenyans.co.ke.
The song dubbed Tuungane na BBI invites Kenyans to come together and pass the report that will usher in a new dawn in the country.
The musician stated that the BBI will rewrite history and help bridge the gap brought about by the difference in class.
