Jambas’ first term will be at the very least 10 years and his second term 7 years. He will have served 17 years in total if his concerted efforts at term extension materialised today.
You must be scratching your head and wondering how this can be so.
The reason for this is what every Civic and Law Practitioner knows just too well.
This Law will be crafted to operate Prospectively as opposed to Retrospectively.
Put another way, this Law will take effect from the moment it is enacted going forwards.
The seven years will start counting from the date this law is passed regardless of how many years Jambas will have served.
I am not being an Alarmist or a Doom-monger at all.
I am just stating facts.
It is the high time that Kenyans stocked generous and copious amounts of heavy-duty Lubricants as it will be tough, rough and thorough.
