Contrary to expectations of an imminent sack, Kuria is very safe in his portfolio for the next few years.
Despite of Kuria being abrasive, arrogant and out of step with Kenya Kwisha propaganda, there is very little Ruto can do to Kuria.
It should be remembered that Kuria was won as a coveted prize by Kenya Kwisha.
Many expected him to join Raila in Azimio after his medical treatment abroad for burns.
However ridiculous and mischievous Kuria becomes, he is totally indispensable for two main reasons:
Sacking Kuria will inevitably orchestrate a domino momentum whose end results are unknown.
They can’t just sack Kuria alone as it will be read as tribal and anti-okuyu.
Secondly and just as important is the fact that if first to be axed Kuria will earn himself martyrdom, sympathies and a platform to start criticising and attacking the regime even more bolder at a time when they don’t want anyone starting agitation and incitement in Mt Kenya as there is potential for massive and deadly political explosions.
Bear in mind Kuria is already exposing sympathies to the Opposition by rubbishing the “Shareholders narrative” and exposing the lie of petrol prices coming down.
The Mwizi and Riggy-G are in a conundrum and quagmire on how to deal with this Spoilt Child.
