WHO BENEFITS FROM MARRIAGE?

He's 68 years old. Retired pensioner. Worked all his life to raise his kids. Deprived himself of life's pleasures to pay expensive school fees and living expenses for his kids abroad. They are now well-off in Europe and America. His wife, 60, has relocated to live with her kids. He's alone back in Kenya. His kids barely call him. He now has to start life all over as a bachelor. He struggles with high blood pressure and other old age ailments. How long more would he survive alone? This is the reality for most working class monogamous men. Their old age is usually lonely and in many cases, sad. Try as you may, women love their kids more than their husbands, no matter how good the man is. The older he gets, the less use they have for him. Tell me then, what do men benefit from marriage? They sacrifice so much but get little recognition for the hard work. The woman reaps all the benefits as the kids are often closer and more affectionate towards her when she becomes old. As a man, know this. Your kids are your wife's children. You are only helping her raise them. When last did you speak with your father? But a week wouldn't go by without hearing from your mom. What is a man's gain when he sacrifices so much but gets little or nothing in return? Well, that's patriarchy. It demands the man literally gives up his happiness, pleasures, resources and life for women and children. Just make enough for your old age, just in case.

You can't generalise this , depends on how you related with your siblings and their mother
If you enjoyed parenting, you will enjoy old age too !

The point is that providing material comforts is just one part of raising children. Emotional support is another one. If you fail to connect with your children usishangae when they want nothing to do with you once they can take care of themselves. They'll see it as freedom.

Hakuna this thing has already been Rigged against us men . we will always remain with the short end of the stick , The mans saviour here is to have money , steal if you have to but dont retire broke. mimi kwanza nataka ku retire na ka 5 star hotel pahali na pent house , na order ka nusu shemusha:D:D na kisiwekwe mafuta nisikufe , ka vodka pia tot mbili nipate usingizi , am good.

I think that African men need some space, which makes it harder for their kids to associate with them as easily as they do with their mothers. As long as the kids send something, the man will be okay.

the moment you mention thier mother hapo, jua tu whatever she tell kids is always biased towards her. sio kama kitambo akid would say something negative about mzee ana chapwa na mama anaa mbiwa dont ever say that about your Dad, sikiuizi hakuna , anakuja late ni mlevi hatupatii pesa anakula na malaya. when a kid hears this from young age through adolescent mpaka akue mkumbwa , how as aman can you undo this???

As a lister has said, have your own nest in old age, and if you are abandoned,marry again, it's never too late to start over. You cannot control how others treat you, but you can control how you live when you have assets.

The chest is important for yourself not for your brood. When the time comes I do hope I will be having a small bungalow elsewhere where I can just move anytime the children start small small noticeable matharao

Nothing like that, it is just nature, even in the animal kingdom, the old lion is left to wither and die off alone.
As said above, just ensure you have enough assets to help you wither off

If you marry a toxic female character, who's innit for selfish reasons, this's what awaits.

A baby is born with the right hemisphere or emotional brain way more developed than the left hemisphere. Hapa ndio bonding ya mama na watoto supercedes ya baba, coz women also use their right hemisphere alot.
