When's the Last Time You Saw a Pied Wagtail

I saw one today and realised it's been YEARS since I last saw one of these birds.

These birds were always around. In school and at home we'd see five or so birds walking on rooftops. Back then we were told that if you're uncircumcised and you killed one of them then your house would burn down.

Here's a sound I haven't heard in years.

There used to be this Motcom field we played football on. Noisy Ibis were always flocking there.

I wonder where these birds went.

Haiya! Just come to the hacienda in Ndeiya. Kwanza the last loud big one, there's a whole family that feeds on my land every morning and evening. Very loud mathafakaz. I also consider them the most stupid birds. Whereas all other have 'zoead' me these big ferks take off the moment they see anybody approaching, making a crazy racket as they go. Still love them though................

You moved to urban area not wooded. Some birds are also regional.

Make them your friends Guka, they feed on small snakes, snails, frogs, toads, lizards, geckos, mice, rats and worms dead or alive very good scavengers/cleaners. They also peck on grass i think to assist digestion.
Those unlucky rodents/vermin can't get into your house.
