When the poor have nothing to eat...

They'll eat the rich.

The timeline of this Sri Lankan newspaper's Twitter account is testament to this saying.

Latin America and Europeans were the best but now even Asian countries and even our neighbours Sudan know how to hold a protest when things ain't right.

Sisi hapa we'd rather defend mabwenyenye while being contemptuous to our neighbours just because of where they hail from or their political leanings.

There's so much that isn't right but even a small peaceful protest like one we did at KEBS South C with some friends after the aflatoxins debacle was quelled quickly by the police.

Kenya tuko na middle class noma sana
'Middle class' ya Kenya ni ndogo sana. This old blame game haisaidii. Most of the guys who raise issues are usually 'middle class' but in their small numbers, they can't do much unless everyone, despite what class is in decide that enough is enough.
In fact, what is typically referred to as midro class is actually higher middle and high-end income households.

Middle class is anybody who has access to credit, be it mshwari, fuliza or the likes and has the ability to pay back....and that is a huge number who can influence alot...but majority are dependent on gavament money and cannot risk loosing out on the next payday especially if some of them end up being brief case billionaires...like in kemsa and the rest are promised the same furtunes if they support the current regime

By your definition, then that is people who can cushion themselves using various means when the times get tough.

According to the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics, the lower income group comprises households with a monthly income of Kshs 23,670 and below; while middle income group comprises households with incomes ranging between Kshs 23,671 and Kshs 119,999 and finally the Upper income group enjoys remunerations of above Kshs 120,000.

Truth is majority of our people are actually broke not even having enough to eat let alone clothe themselves, have proper shelter and decent health care. This should be the issues that ought to be discussed even in the news but daily, ni story tu za kiufala. Our humble people (I refuse to call them lower class) will rarely, if ever protest due to economic hardships but would rather hope for the next election cycle to produce better leaders. This in itself is a vicious cycle.

That timidity is totally and completely underwhelming. The very reason our so called elected leaders continue to lord it over us with impunity. They know we go do nothing...

Exactly that is the word, people are too timid to stand up for what is right. As long as amepata simu kutoka "mkubwa" things have to be done even if it means subverting the law. Recall the KRA CG who oversaw its growth to what it is today, he stood up against uhuru when he was a PM, he stood up against rao when he was a full PM and even against Ruto during the coalition govt when they called him requesting favours for friends not to pay taxes....Really loved his guts when reading his book.

If only the police and other arms of gavament worked with that kind of conviction then we would be very far....lakini everybody is timid of the "mkubwa" calling them wanyanganywe nyama kwa mdomo
