The Wehrmacht-Einheitskanister, better known as the Jerrycan, is a masterpiece of design, and was copied by every nation. This is an original 1940 dated German issue can. The three handles mean it can be carried either two in one hand or one between two men, and the spring loaded cap is clearly either open or closed, avoiding accidental spillages. It holds 20 litres and can float even if it’s full!

KDF has an auction of boarded stores coming up in early January, you can get these there or also time the auction for BATUK, they have lots of these, in the used market they go for between 2 and 5k subject to availability and sought-after by off road enthusiasts.
