Uhuru and Raila lead Kenyans into celebrating Kenya's UNSC win

Kenya, on Thursday 18th June, won the Non permanent seat of the United Nations Security Council by gaining 129 votes thus beating Djibouti which managed to score 62.
President Uhuru Kenyatta crecredited the country's win as a demonstration of the country's growing profile and influence in the community of Nations as a steadfast and dependable development partner.
Uhuru thanked Djibouti for being a worthwhile opponent as the African Union for the endorsement as the content's flag bearer in the contest. The AU special envoy on infrastructure Raila Odinga congratulated the ministry of Foreign affairs and the government for the campaign. He said "Kenya's election to the UNSC marks one of the brightest points of our engagement with the world. It is also a bold manifestation that with solidarity, Africa, which backed Kenya can have its way on the global stage."
