Ala what's happening to them? No drivers, has become expensive etc, ama wako go slow? Also have heard rumours from a taxi pal ati iko an incoming new player in this game, with excellent network. Ama Uber inafanywa ile kitu to make way?

Uber/Bolt drivers are demanding;

1. A minimum of Sh300 per trip.
2. An end to all discounts offered to passengers.
3. Reduction of Uber/Bolt commission per ride from as high as 25% on Uber to 18%.

If they give discount si the drivers still gets what due to them so why does it bother them that much?

But it is voluntary, they are not forced to join uber/bolt, they should create their own platform .Shida ya uber/bolt driver just like boda boda is overcrowding, too many drivers chasing few passengers, wanamaliziana customers then they come whining for increase in commission. Uber was meant to drop and pick but nowadays ni drop and wait.

I've been there and shida ni the lack of patience. Discount settlement as well as card payments are not processed immediately and for guys who are hired as drivers only, that money is sent to the account of car's owner.

Not really. The big two fought against the drivers unionizing (Uber is registered in San Francisco and Bolt in Tallinn, Estonia) coz unlike majuu, hawa wetu hawana haki. The problem is lack of framework that will be a win-win scenario for both the brands, drivers, riders and the taxman.

This approach is a losing battle for drivers. The best I would advise them is to appeal to the government to revive KENATCO, digitise it and have it compete with Uber. This would be a win-win. Government collects taxes that would have gone to San Francisco, drivers get more pay, buy Kenya build Kenya
