OK, I am not calling for a relaxation of interventions. Lockdown iendelee, watu waoshe mikono na ku-keep social distance, na zile mbuzinobo hutafuna Kang'eta waache hiyo tabia ya kipuzi. Hapo tukubaliane.

Anyway, the BBC has run a very interesting story here: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-52228932

You can almost sense their bewilderment and disbelief; Waafrika hawakufi.

In South Africa, the daily new cases have fallen to an average just 50 despite increased testing. There was a time they were announcing about 250 per day.

I don't know whether its the weather, genes, BCG vaccine, ARVs, kienyeji food, younger average age, lower smoking rates, lower incidences of such lifestyle diseases as hypertension, cancer, CVDs and diabetes, but it is increasingly looking like we are gonna miss the bullet.

Mungu yuko (he he he he he he!)

Optimism iko juu sana, venye Bill Gate amekuwa surprised Wa Africa hawakufi , inaonekana ata scheme kutengeneza virus ya Africa lakini bado tuta overcome, tulikula malenge.
We were conquerors, rulers and soldiers in early years. We lost our glory to the west but the beast still lives silently in us . We will not relent nor wither but with time we will rise to our previous glory...Long live Africa lakini tuache kujichukia and kujimaliza

The reality is in our social structure and behaviors. That's what has trouble the earopeans and Americans.
Remember one thing, Africans stop at handshakes mostly, on the other hand wazungu people like hugs and touching touching each other alot.
This theory seems to be the same in Asia, as they do not touch each other alot.
So essentially, washing hands and sanitizing is more helpful to us.
Then as you mentioned, less smokers, less sick people, more youth, better food....
Basically the virus affects every demographics differently.
Hopefully end of April, if we do tests aggressively, we shall be able to tell.

I'd like to put my money on this after seeing several reports. Catholic Italy, Spain and Portugal...and to an extent France may not have been very keen on mass vaxes for under fives.....my infor is not conclusive as I am still trying to connect the dots.

Remove Portugal from that list they have BCG and that’s why there death rate for Covid-19 has been relatively low as compared to their Iberian Neighbours who have been hit quit hard.

Thanks for the correction. I actually thought about if I should check their numbers.

Check out this article, and numbers in Belarus, tukmekistan and kazastan.
Not far from the truth

Sixteen countries continue to give an additional BCG vaccination after the initial BCG, known as a booster vaccination (Table 2), while Kazakhstan, Belarus, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan continue to recommend three BCG vaccinations, with the third given between the ages of 12 and 15.Mar 22, 2011
