A 7-Year-Old boy is fighting for his life in hospital after Was allegedly sodomized by a 12-year-Old School Mate.
Police in Mombasa are investigating a defilement case where a ,7-year-old, minor was allegedly sodomized by a fellow student at Saint Kevin school in Nyali inside the school compound.
While confirming the incident, Coast regional Anti - Human trafficking and child protection unit head, Andrew Warui, said that detectives had recorded statements from the two minors.
Warui also revealed that ,the school Director, the class teacher to the victim together with the school's head teacher and parents of both the victim and those of the suspect had been summoned for interrogation.
"Investigators have launched investigations in the school to establish whether the cases are rampant’ Warui said.
He added that, statistics had indicated a worrying number of cases of minors sexually abusing each other in the region.
According to Dorothy Onditi, mother to the victim, They suspect that the sodomy ordeal on their son began early in January and had repeatedly been happening before they discovered.
"His school performance declined abruptly until it reached a point where he never wanted to go to school anymore. My efforts to unreveal the reason were unsuccessful," the sobbing mother narrated.
The distressed mother further claimed that her son's life had been threatened by the suspect,a 12-year-Old class five boy, who would always threaten to kill the victim using broken bottles whenever he resisted or disclosed the ordeal.
"My son would be lured into the toilet by the older boy who always pretended of assisting him for short calls in the toilet he had hidden a broken bottle, which he would use to inflict wounds on him whenever he resisted," said Dorothy as tears rolled down her cheeks.
Dorothy also disclosed that they came to learn of the inhuman act against their son when he began passing stool uncontrollably.
"He has been passing stool on himself,for the last few weeks and it really got us worried,we decided even to ask his teachers if anything had happened to him at school but they seemed unaware of the happenings and when we took him for medical check up the results were shocking! We found he had severely been sodomized ,"she added.
Treatment notes from the coast general referral hospital indicate that the victims private parts ,had abrasions and lacerations (Hamartomas) a clear indication that the minor's anus had been penetrated.
The minor is now required to undergo surgery.
The school administration however said that they were ready to cooperate with the investigators so as establish the manner under which the unfortunate incident happened and where.
